Introduction

Emeco launched its Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) division in 1980 and in 1981 welcomed its first international congress, the International Congress for Occupational Health, which was attended by 1,300 doctors; quite an achievement at that time due to Egypt’s limited tourism and congress infrastructure.

Since then, our PCO division has gone from strength to strength, testament to our professional service and to Egypt’s improved infrastructure, which now offers world-class convention centres, airports and some of the leading international hotel brands.

In 1994, Emeco handled the United Nations International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD 1994), attended by 16,500 delegates. That same year saw us welcome 11,500 attendees to the UN Congress of Africa Telecommunications (Africa Telecom 1994). Other notable events we have worked on include the Youth Employment Summit for 1,700 delegates in 2002, the International Congress of the World Psychiatric Association attended by 6,000 professionals in 2005, and the International Pharmaceutical Federation Congress in 2005 for 3,800 delegates, plus many more.

Our PCO division offers a wide range of services, including but not limited to: Planning, Project Secretariat, Financial Management, Project Website Development, Delegate Registration & Administration, Exhibition Management, Venue Management, Hotel Registration, Transport Logistics and Marketing & Promotion.
