Incentive programs and motivating employees

Incentive travel is a creative and effective way of motivating employees, building good group dynamics and team spirit throughout different departments in any organization or company.

As a concept, incentive travel is only a few decades old. It was born as a motivational tool to enhance employees’ preformance. Employees nowadays are constantly exposed to new things and continiously seeking interesting experiences. Companies all over the world recognize the importance of motivating their employees and it can be a challenge at times.

Before incentive travel, there had been numerous attempts to motivate employees by offering incentives like for example a financial bonus. After a while that wasn’t effective since high preformers got used to that incentive pay as part of their salary. Later, some companies went for merchandise as a way to motivate like cars, watches…etc. From there came the idea of incentive travel.

By creating a dream trip that they can take all the employees from various departments and give them a great opportunity to visit a new country you can build team spirit and create a positive work environment. Incentive travel has proven to increase overall satisfaction and motivate employees.

Emeco is the first to introduce the incentive travel programs and is the best in the field and still going strong. In 1984 Emeco held an event with 250 people offering a seminar on incentive travel. Since then the service has developed and evolved to even facilitate the process of entering Egypt by having people meet our guests and help them through passport checks and customs at the airport.

Some other events that have been organised by Emeco as part of incentive tours have been:
- An event to launch a new perfume where Frank Sinatra preformed by the Great Sphinx
- An event for Pepsi with a Jungle theme
- The world renouned Aida orchestra in the Karnak Temple
- United Nations population conference with 16,500 attendees including Al Gore
